My experience at Summer School 2022 started early on Monday morning when I met Phumlani at the car park while on my way to the Immedia offices. We struck up a friendly conversation as we headed up the elevator.
Shortly thereafter, I had trouble getting onto Microsoft Teams to attend the Summer School Orientation. Phumlani came to the rescue and helped me out a lot, ensuring that I was able to log into the call for the Orientation. It was during the Orientation that I then realized that Phumlani was my mentor for the week, along with Lusanda.
I had attended every session at the office for the entire week, watching how the staff interact with customers to resolve various technical issues. I was also given a breakdown of what was to be done during the week, so I learnt about Cloud Computing, the OSI Model, Network Devices such as the router, switches, access points etc., Microsoft 365, as well as POP/IMAP.
My mentors were great, and really friendly. They made the experience of attending Summer School a whole lot better by going the extra mile to help me out whenever they could, even though they were really busy most of the time.
And that was my experience of Summer School 2022!
