Day 3 arrived and I was used to the environment of immedia. At this point, I was comfortable enough to make conversation with some of the permanent employees. Margaret, my mentor, got me very excited when she tasked me with designing a website for myself that would help advertise my Disc Jockeying hobby. The next step would be bringing those designs to life on Photoshop (which caused me more frustration) but with the aid of my mentor and Priyen (another mentor), my life was made a little easier.
We also had a fantastic session with the Project Manager, Naven who told us more about some of the methodologies that immedia uses in their software development life cycle. He introduced us to and clearly defined the Agile and Scrum approach and incorporated some role playing towards the end of his presentation. He gave us a scenario to design a website for a hotel and made us brainstorm the various functions we would require if we were to develop the website. The point of the exercise was to give us a feel of how team meetings would play out for a typical software development project.
