I curbed the typical blue–Monday–after–a-lovely- weekend-fever, as my week started with a great start at Summer School.
I was welcomed exceptionally well by Nomfundo as she got me and the other Summer School attendees prepared with her introductory address to the programme.
Without wasting time, I was assigned to my mentor (Margaret Thomas) who clearly broke down what was required of me for the day. I was tasked, by her, with creating a research document based on the “basic rules of design” where topics like hierarchy and positive & negative spacing etc. had to be documented by me for future reference, as a design guide for any project. After having researched this, I was given a practical task that needed me to apply the very topics that I had just researched. The task entailed me redrawing the attached animated picture and having to annotate the various rules of design that I identified.
