Today was something different for me, I got to spend time with Duncan from the design team and learn about the creative processes involved in making layouts for apps and websites. I started off talking to Duncan about what his daily tasks are and how he goes about them, I then spent alot of time trying to make my own creations in photoshop which is a designers primary software tool for creating all the visual elements of an app, it comes with a huge array of built in functions which can be used to do all kinds of impressive stuff. As someone who has never used photoshop before I discovered that its not that easy and it takes quite a bit of practice to get it right, something that was immediately apparent when looking at my rough edged, unsymmetrical concoctions. Although I didn’t quite get the hang of photoshop im still glad I got the experience of being a (noob)designer for a day.
